Suburb traditions

Throughout the year, several celebrations are held in this village, attracting a large participation and the involvement of their local residents.

Aspe’s street and suburb celebrations are held on the weekend following the corresponding Saint or Virgin that these are dedicated to, except on certain streets like San Pascual or Nuncio streets.

  • Saint Anthony the Great: 17th January.
  • Downhill and uphill procession of the Agony of Christ: held at Pasos street between the 14th and the 20th of March.
  • The Good Shepherd: 7th to 15th May.
  • La Cruz street: 3rd May.
  • San Isidro street: 15th May.
  • Our Virgen de Fatima at Barrio Castillo and Barrio Cipreses suburbs: 13th May.
  • Santa Rita street: 22nd May.
  • San Pascual street: on the weekend of Pentecost (seventh Sunday after Easter).
  • Santisima Trinidad street: 19th June.
  • Plaza San Juan square: 18th to 24th June.
  • San Luis street: 21st June.
  • Corpus Christi: Sunday after the Holy Trinity.
  • San Pedro street: 29th June.
  • Barrio Sagrado Corazon suburb: weekend after Corpus Christi.
  • Our Virgen de las Nieves street: Week commencing 5th August on odd numbered years only
  • Sol, Vereda, Colon and adjacent streets’ celebration in honour of Saint Cajetan, every 7th August, on odd numbered years only.
  • Virgen de la Asunción: Concepcion Street, 14th and 15th August on odd numbered years only.
  • Our Virgen de la Salud: Vicente Cervera, Azulejos, Hernan Cortes and nearby streets, on 8th September.
  • Holy Physicians (Saints Cosmas and Damian): Santos Medicos street, on 26th September.
  • Urbanizacion Montesol: 7-9th October.
  • Our Virgen del Pilar: Nuncio and Ramon y Cajal streets, on 12th October.
